About the University of Utah Campus Store
The University of Utah Campus Store is owned and operated by the University of Utah and serves as the official store of the University and Utah Athletics.
We support students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans, and campus departments through course materials, technology, graduation supplies, school spirit, gifts, health sciences resources, postal services, and official Utah gear.
More than a retail store, we are part of the campus community. Our work supports student success, University operations, campus pride, and the everyday needs of Utes on campus and beyond.
Who We Are
A University-Owned Store
The Campus Store is an Auxiliary Services unit. We receive no support from taxes or student fees. Store revenue supports our operating expenses, including rent to the University, cost of goods, employee compensation, utilities, and the services we provide to campus.
Revenue generated through the Campus Store and Utah Red Zone stays connected to the University community and helps support student employment, campus services, and Utah Athletics.
A Student Employer
The Campus Store team includes more than 200 full-time, part-time, and student employees. Approximately 30 team members are full-time or non-student employees, with the majority of our team made up of current University of Utah students.
Student employees play an important role in our daily operation and help us serve campus across retail, course materials, fulfillment, events, customer service, technology, and more.

Main Campus Store
The Main Campus Store is located on lower campus and serves as our primary location for course materials, technology, apparel, gifts, graduation products, postal services, Starbucks, department support, and everyday campus needs.
Campus Store Health
Campus Store Health is located in the Health Sciences Education Building and supports University of Utah Health students, faculty, staff, and employees with apparel, supplies, technology, course materials, and health sciences resources.
Utah Red Zone
Utah Red Zone is owned and operated by the University of Utah Campus Store and is the official fan store of the University of Utah and Utah Athletics.
You can shop Utah Red Zone gear through our Main Campus Store, online, and at game-day and event locations including Rice-Eccles Stadium, the Guardsman Tailgate Lot, and the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

Our History
The Campus Store’s roots go back more than 100 years. What began as a small campus bookstore has grown into one of the largest and most comprehensive college stores in North America.
The University of Utah has had a Campus Store, originally known as the Bookstore, since 1894, when faculty members reached an agreement to create a store for the school. At that time, store proceeds helped fund needed reference books for the library.
In 1900, the Board of Regents oversaw the creation of a bookstore that has continued serving the University community ever since.
The store began in a small classroom in the Park Building before moving in 1947 to barracks purchased from Fort Douglas.
The Campus Store moved to its present location in 1961, creating a long-term home for a growing University community.
In 1975, the store was remodeled to add the north wing, expanding the space and services available to campus.
The Campus Store continued to evolve with a major interior remodel and the addition of Starbucks, creating a more modern and welcoming store experience.
Today, the Campus Store continues that legacy by supporting students, faculty, staff, alumni, departments, fans, and Utah Athletics through a modern mix of retail, academic, technology, event, and campus services.
Our history is tied to the growth of the University itself. As campus needs have changed, the Campus Store has continued to adapt while staying focused on service, access, student success, and pride in the U.

The University Campus Store has two physical locations: the main Campus Store on lower campus, and the Campus Store Health located in the Sciences Education Building.

Our primary function, like that of other auxiliary units, is to serve the University of Utah community and its customers.

Utah Red Zone and Campus Store Sandy
Utah Red Zone and Campus Store Sandy One Utah Red Zone is owned and operated by the University of Utah Campus Store and is the official fan store of the University of Utah and Utah Athletics. We are located at the main Campus Store and at our game-day locations at; Rice-Eccles Stadium, the Guardsman Tailgate Lot and the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Our Campus Store Sandy One is located at the Sandy One center. Utah Red Zone and the University Campus store return all revenue to the University of Utah and Utah athletics.

The University Campus Store Health is owned and operated by the University of Utah Campus Store and is the official store of University of Utah Health Care. The University Campus Store Health is located on the first floor of the Health Sciences Education Building in the School of Medicine.

Our History
Our roots go back over 100 years. Over time, we have evolved from a minor operation in a vacant classroom to one of the finest and largest college stores in North America.
The University of Utah has had a Campus Store (or Bookstore) since 1894 when the faculty of the school came to a “gentlemen’s agreement” about the creation of the store. At that time, the profits of the store went to badly needed reference books for the library. In 1900, this gentlemen’s agreement fell apart, and the Board of Regents oversaw the creation of a bookstore that has continued to this day. We started in a small classroom in the Park Building, moving in 1947 to barracks purchased from Ft. Douglas, and then finally in 1961 to its present location. In 1975, the store was remodeled to add the North wing of the store. Those remodels have continued through the years, most recently in 2015 when we added a Starbucks and remodeled the interior of the store.
