Whole Store Policies
- Full refunds are only available with the original receipt. Depending on the merchandise, additional requirements, exceptions, and/or exclusions may apply.
- Refunds will be issued in the same form as the original purchase.
- Eligibility for a refund depends on meeting all guidelines for the specific merchandise, including an inspection of the item’s condition and/or packaging.
- If accepted, refunds without receipts will be issued via in-store credit only. The refund price will be the lowest sale price the merchandise has sold for unless the condition of the merchandise leads to further downward adjustment in value.

Insignia and Apparel Merchandise
Utah Red Zone accepts returns for a full refund up to 30 days from the original purchase date and must be in saleable condition. (Exceptions apply). An original receipt is required for a full refund. Online orders or items that need to be mailed in can be sent to:

Please include a copy of the receipt, name, and phone number.If an original receipt isn’t available, Utah Red Zone may provide one of the following options: an even exchange, a Campus Store/Utah Red Zone gift card for the current price of the item, or receipt look-up for a small fee. Refunds will be issued in the same form as the original purchase.

General Books
- A Customer Service or General Books representative must verify that the book is in new, sellable condition.
- Photo ID required for returns/exchanges without a receipt.
- Returns are not accepted on study aides, study guides, test prep materials, and the University General Catalog. Audio books and videos that have been opened are not refundable. If an audio book or video is defective, it may be exchanged for the identical item only.
- Defective books may be exchanged or refunded at the discretion of the customer.
- Refunds with receipts will be given for the amount of the receipt at the time of purchase, unless a downward adjustment in value is being made because of the condition of the merchandise.
- Refunds without receipts will be issued via an in-store credit only and given for the lowest sale price the merchandise has sold for, unless a downward adjustment in value is being made because of the condition of the merchandise.
Textbooks Purchased in Store
Return Deadlines
- Full Refund: Through the second Wednesday after the first day of classes.
- Partial Refund: 10% return fee; Thursday, Friday and Saturday (except Summer semester) of the second week after the beginning of classes.
- Exceptions: 2nd Session and Short Length Classes are refundable for ONLY TWO BUSINESS DAYS after class starts with printed withdrawal confirmation.
- There are NO refunds or exchanges after the deadlines pass.
- Rental Returns: Last day of finals, unless otherwise posted.
Save Your Receipt!!!
- Original receipt & University student ID are REQUIRED for ALL refunds & exchanges. No exceptions.
- Refund is cash or credit based on purchase method.
- All sales are final after the last Partial Refund date.
- New textbooks that have been written in, soiled, or damaged in any way may or may not be returned, depending on the resell-able condition of the book. If accepted, these books will be returned at a used price.
- NO RETURNS on Copy Center Packets.
- Check all books & packages before use! Some are NON-RETURNABLE once the shrink wrap or seals are broken.
Home, Office, School and Art Supplies
- A cash register receipt is required for a full refund.
- Returns without a receipt require the item to be in stock currently or easily identified as merchandise previously sold by the Campus Store and may incur a restocking fee.
- A representative from Customer Service or Educational Supplies must verify that the merchandise is in new, sell-able condition.
- Refunds for items that have had the security or protective packaging opened, or which are used or defective, will be made at the discretion of a supervisor from Educational Supplies.
- Refunds are not given on any art paper.
- Refunds with receipts will be given for the amount of the receipt at the time of purchase, unless a downward adjustment in value is being made because of the condition of the merchandise.
- Refunds without receipts will be issued via an in-store credit only and given for the lowest sale price the merchandise has sold for, unless a downward adjustment in value is being made because of the condition of the merchandise.
Concessions
- Merchandise purchased at concession events may be returned to the University Campus Store for exchange or refund.
- No refunds will be given at the concession events. (i.e., Rice-Eccles Stadium, Huntsman Center, etc.)
- The same returns guidelines as the main store apply to all concessions sales. If you would like a refund for an item purchased at concessions, please save your receipt and visit the Main Campus Store within any return deadlines. For more info on return guidelines, see the appropriate merchandise category above.
Computer Products
- An original receipt is required for a full refund.
- Refunds of electronic items sold two (2) weeks prior to the refund date need to be approved by Educational Supplies Department personnel. Returns of opened electronic clam shell packaging are subject to a 15% repackaging fee.
- Returns without a receipt require the item to be in stock currently or easily identified as merchandise previously sold by the Campus Store and may incur a restocking fee.
- A representative from the UTech Department must verify that the merchandise is in new, sell-able condition.
- All unopened software and hardware have a 15-day return window. Software that has been opened is not refundable at any time.
- Clearance merchandise is sold as-is with no warranty available and no refunds permitted.
- Refunds for items that have had the security or protective packaging opened, or are used or defective, will be made at the discretion of a supervisor from the UTech Department. This merchandise must meet the manufacturer’s return guidelines and may incur a restocking fee.
- Refunds with receipts will be given for the amount of the receipt at the time of purchase, up to 15 days, unless a downward adjustment in value is being made because of the condition of the merchandise.
- Refunds without receipts will be issued via an in-store credit only and given for the lowest sale price the merchandise has sold for, unless a downward adjustment in value is being made because of the condition of the merchandise.
Health Science Products
- Refunds or exchanges for Health Sciences store purchases are transacted at that location. The refund or return guidelines are the same at the Health Sciences store for each category of merchandise as at the main Campus Store.
- The refund or return guidelines for each merchandise category are the same as the Main Campus Store.
